• Why would you use this device to take vitals from a patient and not a blood pressure cuff and the other equipment designed for that purpose? This device is not intended to record that type of information. There are other fit bit devices, not the Alta that measures heart rate, but a medical device made specifically for that purpose would be more accurate.

• The Alta does not have a heart rate monitor but you can use it like any other watch to time taking someone's pulse and watching their respirations.

• I wear a 2nd hand watch on one wrist and my Alta on the other. Unfortunatly none of the trackers can do this.

• Fitbit Alta doesn't have a heart rate tracker. You're thinking of the CHARGE HR

• You can not get heart rate on the Alta . You would need the fit bit charge or blaze for that feature.
