It appears to me the charge 2 is very bulky and thick. I have a jawbone up 2 and it looks more like a bracelet. How does the charge 2 compare to the up 2 in appearence. I am thinking of switching because I would like a screen.   (10 Answers)

      Answer

Not bulky at all and the screen is large enough to view data. I use reading glasses and when I'm out exercising I don't need the glasses to see data.

Is it water proof? What does it do that the old fit bit doesn't do?   (5 Answers)

        Answer

It is water resistant, not proof. Basically hand washing and rain is ok, but no swimming. https://www.fitbit.com/compare?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=20160101_F_US_A_DR_FT_00_2016DTASSEM_NA&gclid=Cj0KEQjw6am-BRCTk4WZhLfd4-oBEiQA3ydA3kIDF_50s1B_YUpRPP2_AxhVLeypRAfviwGlRNAbd7caAqxl8P8HAQ&gclsrc=aw.ds&dclid=COOim6j9884CFVePaQodSZsD6A That's a link to the full feature list from Fitbit

Mine goes 5-7 days with a charge. When I charge I just do it one night while I'm sleeping.

It does not come with a leather strap, but they are available for purchase. They are pricey but there are some that I purchased online that are made by another brand that fit great are very reasonable.

            Answer

Yes, although you should keep in mind that it requires you to have your fitbit connected via bluetooth to your phone (which can take a toll on battery life). The fitbit will vibrate letting you know who's calling or if you recieve a text, and the text will scroll across the screen letting you see it without having to whip out your phone. The alta showed about a sentence or two of the text followed by a "..." if it was too long (not sure if the charge 2 will show the entire message)

I though my Original Fitbit HR was water resistant also, it never said take it off when you wash your hands, Is their any other advantages , why it would be $20 more than the Fitbit HR   (5 Answers)

              Answer

The Charge 2 has a larger screen displaying more information. The Charge 2 has a user-replaceable band, whereas the Charge HR's band could not be replaced by the user and when (not if) the band failed the whole thing had to be sent back for repair (if still in warranty). I had a Charge HR for a couple of weeks but returned it for just that reason -- not that the band had failed already but because I had discovered that deficiency. The store's customer service rep. told me that they had had a lot returned "because they fall apart."

Yes it tracks miles in addition to steps, floors climbed, calories burned, etc... I attached a screenshot of my stats with the Fitbit app. It gives you an idea of what it tracks.

I don't know how long the original band would last if it were the only one I used. You can change bands and purchase other types of bands with the charge 2. Right now I have two bands that I switch between but I'm planning to purchase two more.
