No it is not waterproof. Water resistant meaning sweat won't hurt it but you cannot put it in a washing machine.

Yes and no. It is water resistant to a point and can withstand a workout where you are sweating a lot. I would not advise against submerging it for long periods of time or taking it through an obstacle race, like a Tough Mudder or Spartan Race.

I would say splash proof - I have gotten it wet while washing my hands, have accidentally kept it on in the shower, and I am a profuse sweater in general and it has been fine. Would I go deep sea diving in it? No.

It is water proof to a point. The band is waterproof, but the underside is not. If you get the underside wet it will short out and be ruined.
