How do I turn it on? Does it light up when on null

You can just touch it probably twice, however you have to look at your phone, once you have downloaded the app and set up your firtbit, it will let you know even when the battery is low.

Nothing to turn on. If it is charged, insert it in the band with the LIGHTS up. If you tap it twice some lights turn on for a second, then you know it is ON.

The lights will not stay on. If it is charged and you tap it the lights will light up. If they don’t it may not be charged.

It's on once charged, you can see your progress once you download the Fitbit app. If you double tap the top of the Fitbit it will let you know if you need to charge it.
