I am on the school swim team and it logs my workouts!

I would say no... You can use it while swimming. You also can put in that you are doing that style of class and guesstimate the calories burned. But it will not auto-track it.

Have not taken a class but was playing catch, and basketball in pool with kids and it did register.

It works well for swimming, but not for diving.
