This Fitbit model does not measure heart rate. Try the Fitbit charge activity monitor.

To my knowledge, the only FitBit that monitors the heart rate is the FitBit Charge HR.

Fitbit Flex does not have heart rate monitor. Fitbit Charge HR and Fitbit Surge models can track heart rate through a sensor on the back of devices (reads off of wrist; no separate strap).
