• The large and small fitbit surge are water resistant NOT waterproof. So it's kinda splash proof and you can put it under water for small amounts of time. I would not swim or bathe with that watch on.

• according to everything i read from the community fitbit posting and the staff at fitbit, no. they don't recommend it. they say its water resistant, but they don't actively suggest you to totally immerse your fitbit in water. i was curious about taking with me swimming and that's what i found out myself.
