KC. I am a very light skinned caucasian man, and I feel your trepidations. Often the most difficult thing is to give the attachment "watch band" a little more or less tension, to get oxygen tracking during sleep. I am certain that my reduction of skin pigmentation would not make either of us prone to issues. The Manafacturer wouldn't let that happen lest it could cause them limiting their customer base. (Think Bud Light and "Dylan". Customers want new improvements for us all, to have our money for a fair, and just product. Cheers
