I do not know the outer range of the Pro model, but my own experience is that it is much more than 30 feet. Our Pro cam picks up cars going by from about 80 feet.

I'm sure you can find the answer in the specifications. For my camera I have to create a motion zone about 35 feet from the camera. Otherwise it will pick up the neighbor's motion.
