Yes it can be wired to a switch. That how ours is wired with the switch constantly turned on.

Although some junction boxes are wired to an on/off switch, we recommend leaving the power on at all times. This way, your device remains powered and online to secure your home. If the switch is powered off, all features including motion detection, video recording and the floodlights will not function.
