“I'm new to Xbox -- it seems like I can buy a digital version of this game through the Xbox Windows app, but do I need to still own a console (Xbox One, etc) and/or an Xbox controller to be able to play? Or can I purchase the game by itself and play on PC?”

Thank you for your question! The digital edition of Forza Horizon 5 may be played on Windows 10/11 PC without the need for a Xbox console.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I recently purchased both disc and bought digital version. I had the same questions but can not absolutely answer your question. In buying the digital version I could not have multiple players play unless as a member. Buying the disc, not verified because I have not played it yet, may allow multiple players and if you want to sell the game you can if you have the disc.
