Your Amazon Tablet: Fire 5th Generation 7" 2015 is automatically updated when online (wifi). Or you can go into settings to Device Options to System Updates too. Amazon comes out with new models but there is no need to buy a new one, I still have my Kinle Touch ereader with no bells & whistles and still enjoy it. If you own more than one, on the same account, you can sync them.
