• Hello kitchenaide! The interior light on the microwave FFCM1134LW will turn on during operation. However, it does not turn on when the door is opened. Hopefully this information is helpful to you. –Thanks!-

• No. Black one I received as a gift 36 hours ago does not turn on light when door is opened. Only lights when actually cooking. Cabinet top exceeds 100F, back over 120 when cooking. Considering return for a different make and/or model.
