Hi there, Mike E! The Frigidaire 1.8 cu ft Over-the-Range Microwave (with the model such as FMOW1852AS / FMOS1846 series) here is what the installation manual specifies regarding electrical connection: What it does require - The unit is rated for 120 V AC, 60 Hz. - It draws about 13.5 amps at 120 V. This microwave oven must be plugged into a wall receptacle that is properly installed and grounded. It is equipped with a cord having a grounding plug. You should install this microwave so that it plugs into a proper 3-prong grounded receptacle (outlet) in the cabinet or wall above the range. It’s not meant to be hardwired (wires permanently connected) unless the manufacturer or a qualified electrician provides an approved modification or kit that permits it, and you’d need to check local electrical/power code as well. If you were thinking of wiring it directly (without a plug), you’d want to first check: - Does the model variant come with a power cord and plug, or is it sold as “hardwire” capable? - Are there local code requirements in your area (Philippines / Manila) about over-the-range microwaves and connections? - Would any warranty be affected if you bypass the plug? - Maico
