It will eventually melt and recirculate.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Official Frigidaire response is ridiculous. Let me see if I can be a bit more helpful as I have some experience with these counter top ice makers. No, it will not "stay frozen". The unit is not insulated. Rather, it simply tries to make ice faster than it melts. Results will be hit or miss. Keep in a cool area away from sunlight and heat sources and you'll have a bit better luck than, say, someone using it in the garage in July (The opposite may be true in the winter). I have heard of people attempting to super cool the water in the reservoir by letting a couple of the first batches of ice fall directly into the water reservoir and thus creating a cooler environment in the enclosure, with the added benefit of faster freezing ice. Hopefully my response is a bit more helpful than Frigidaire's CYA response. LOL
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We leave ours running all the time. There has not been one time that someone has said we are out of ice. If you leave it sitting, the ice will melt but it will quickly make fresh ice to replace it.
