Hello, Archie! For the most efficient operation, place the freezer where surrounding temperatures will not exceed 110 degrees. Temperature of 32 degrees and below will not affect operation. Do not use additional compressor heaters. Allow the following clearances for ease of installation, proper air circulation: 27.5 inches across the top and 7.87 inches across the sides. This model can be plugged in on delivery. It is important to defrost and clean the freezer when 1/4 to 1.2 inch of frost has accumulated. There is a drain plug on the floor of the freezer, and an unscrew outside drain plug located on the lower left front of the freezer. This model is not energy star certified.
