• Yes. It is made for vertical sliding windows. But mine are mounted in side sliding windows by making a wooden sill the width of the unit that is screwed to the wall and placing a bar across the top that is wider than the opening. I used a piece of Plexiglas to cover the opening above the unit. There are many online articles showing how to install these units in sliding windows.
