“My daughter's dorm has wattage usage requirements for mini fridges. What is the amount of amps (watts) it uses to start up the fridge and what is the amount of amps it uses while running? I need the answers to be specific for each scenario, not averaged.”

Just sent an answer to Clod on the same topic; didn't copy it and it'll take a bit to post, so seeing that there's others and the Frigidaire rep isn't really helping much; keep in mind, they will have to answer for a variety of applications: air conditioned dorm rooms and offices, power limited RVs, and non-air conditioned garage/porch/pool room. Lowe's website says 1 Amp which seems about right (it may start up at fractions of an Amp more), if you need documentation. Mine is in an air conditioned space and it doesn't run all that often (I can't really hear it, but whenever I'm next to it, it is off) and therefore is likely to be at 0 Amp most of the time. Typically, dorms (and offices) will use the amp limit to insure that larger fridges are excluded (even some mini-fridges require a dedicated 20A circuit) and will have similar limitations/expectations of large draws like space heaters, fish tank heaters, hair dryer/curling irons, hot plates, coffee pots, microwaves, etc. Mine is in my office with a Keurig, a small shelf stereo, 2 computer workstations and a desktop printer. I don't know how many other office spaces (and computers, small fluroescent tube desk lights, cell phone chargers, etc) are on my circuit but we have no problems.
