“The product description says this unit is 10000 btu but the specs say 6500. Why the difference and what is it?”

• Because the ad uses American thermal unit measurements even though it says BTU and the spec on the box is the actual BTU -( British Thermal Units) measurement

• Different measuring system. Kind of like tools. Standard or Metric. It only cools off a room like a 6500 btu window unit would not like a 10,000 btu window unit. If that helps.
