I received my vent hood on June 16, so haven’t had to change the filter yet. However, looking at the manual, it doesn’t look hard to do. I did remove the filter to see how hard it would be. Not hard at all. You do need a Philips type screwdriver. According to the manual the LED light bulb needs to be replaced by a service technician. Hope this is helpful.
