Hi there, valued consumer! Generally, trim kits are designed to fit into standard cutouts, and the specified cutout width is usually the minimum required size. Since your cutout is 0.5 inches narrower than the trim kit width, the 27” trim kit will likely NOT fit properly into the 26.5” cutout without modification (e.g., widening the cabinet opening). You typically need at least the minimum recommended cutout width or sometimes slightly more for proper installation. So, if the trim kit specifies a 27” cutout, your 26.5” won’t be wide enough as-is. - Maico
