Any type of compressor used for refrigeration should not be laid over on its side, however, if you do that, allow it to stand upright overnight before plugging it in

We placed it on the side to transport and were advised by the Best Buy employee to let it sit upright at least 12 hours before turning it on. We let is sit upright for 24 hours, just to be sure and did not have any issues.

Yes you can put it on the side it'll be safe to transfer it anywhere you need to go
