Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The way it saves energy is, that once it reaches the temperature for a few minutes that you set. It will go into standby mode. In other words it shuts off. Then when it gets a few degrees hotter than your setting it will turn back on.

Please try again later.Someone ELSE asked this and it was stated from comp. rep. that this model is NOT 'EnergyStar rated',or not APPROVED under the E.S. standards; but WHY it is not, they did not specify. It COULD be that the model has a LOWER EER (Energy Efficiency Rating) than that of other similar models, making it- well.... less efficient and therefore less 'green'. The LOWER the EER, the HIGHER energy costs would be over time. But it IS quite a valid Q. in these days of global warming and energy conservation.
