Hey Jim! The air conditioner FFPA1422R1 will need to have a drain hose hooked up to the dehumidifier while it is in dry mode. The bottom drain will need to be used when too much water has gathered into the air conditioner during operation. We hope this information is helpful to your shopping experience.
