The unit should be able to be installed in any window that has a sliding up / down type window. Even if you didn't have the sliding window or had to completely remove the window you could get this to work with very little effort. My window is a traditional window so I lift it up or down to open or close it. This is what my air conditioner rests on to keep it from falling out of the window. My problem is my window is extra wide and the two side panels included were not long enough to keep the bugs and elements out. What I did was position the air conditioner far enough to one side where one extender would fit. A quick trip to Home Depot I got some Plexiglas (about $8 for the size I needed) a Plexiglas cutter (about $5 ) and some clear silicone calk. I measured the length and width of the opening I needed to cover, cut the Plexiglas where it had some extra length and width to rest against the window and calked it in pace. weather and bug resistant for about $25. If you had to remove the window all you would need is to securely fasten a board across your window where a normal window would go to keep your air conditioner from falling out.
