Thank you for your question! To properly clean the stainless steel surface on your Frigidaire Gallery 30" Gas Cooktop – Stainless Steel, the burner grates will need to be lifted off the cooktop. The grates are designed to be fully removable for easy access to the surface underneath; however, there is no need to disassemble or take apart the entire grate assembly beyond simply lifting them off once the unit is completely cool. After removing the grates, you can clean the stainless steel surface with a soft cloth and mild soapy water. For best results, dry the surface thoroughly to maintain the finish. We recommend avoiding abrasive cleaners, bleach, or ammonia-based products, as these may damage the stainless steel. The grates themselves can be cleaned separately with warm soapy water and dried completely before placing them back on the cooktop. - Jessica
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes you do need to take grates off. Very easy though and very easy to clean. We use a microfiber Cloth. Love this stove. We use cast iron cookware and very easy to slide across top if needed.
