Hi, OvalBurnerSwap! Thank you for this inquiry and for bringing this up. No, the center oval burner cannot be swapped with a small burner cap or even with a medium or large burner cap. The reason is the orifice/ignitor assembly in the center is in 10k BTU (the small cap burner uses a 5K BTU), which was built and designed to suffice the size of a center burner cap. Also, please be reminded that any modification or alterations made to any of Frigidaire products will result in voiding their manufacturer's warranty. ~Juan
