No, there is no real assembly for this. The filter just drops into the pitcher and the lid just inserts in top. There is a little hinged lid to poor water into it, so you don’t even need to take the big lid off to refill. 

Pretty much, soak the filter in cold water for a couple hours and then run some thru in the sink before using for drinking and ur good 2 go
