The only “plug and play” option I think this unit is capable of, is that of your vehicle having a cigarette lighter-type plug on or near the dash so you can power it up. Don’t believe this unit is capable of any other secret ring-knocker type communications capability.

Yes as long at you have a 12v accessory power port.
