I have had the same issue with my Garmin driveassist51. It will have these "fits" of screen freezing. I have narrowed it down to the bluetooth. When it is off, it seems to work fine. Of course it cuts off the "traffic" function which makes it less useful. I don't know if it is the smartlink app or the bluetooth itself. The speaker phone function does not work correct either. A clicking noise keeps occurring when it is engaged. I am going to try getting a traffic receiver cable and see if that will eliminate this issue. I'm in New York. I hope you are listening Garmin!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Out of desperation I replaced the SD cards. For a few months now I haven't had a freeze-up. Did I have to replace the cards, or just remove and re-insert them? I don’t know. Why would this help? I dont know. Maybe problems writing to the SD card causes a a bug to appear??? Give it a try if you're desperate.
