Hello, please use any standard car charger and a MINI to USB cable and you'll be good to go, I've done this several times, and the device worked 100%. Search mini-usb image for example, (it came with one).

There is item on market with regular plug and another plug for Garmin plug. Have used this in years past for in house use of Garmun and putting addresses in before travel. Ask Best Buy.
