I don't use the bluetooth feature. The Garmin unit offers lifetime updates. The screen is large and easy to read. The sale price was good, much cheaper than the Garmin store or Amazon.

I would buy this unit and you may find that the Bluetooth will come in handy in the future. If not, just ignore the feature. Like most electronics, there are usually extra features you may never use.

I turned off my blue-ttoth, or maybe just did not enable it. You don't need blue tooth and I think you need to interface with the device to actually get it. THOUGH the lifetime traffic which wasn't really anygood in the past now doesn't work, but the screen is HUGE and the voice command now understands you better.
