I just bought one, but it does not hold any charge. It suppose to hold charge or mine has a problem? null

I just bought a DriveSmart7 at Walmart (my first ever gps). Would not charge on a USB port on computer. Drove around town 10 days playing with gps. Battery symbol showed solid red. On my second visit to GarminExpress (first one updated the maps) to register the device, when I exited GarminExpress the battery symbol had turned all green. Maybe there is a relationship with registering that allows you to see the battery charge.

I had that problem with the Rand McNally, and could not get it fixed. Went through 2 units, same problem. Exchanged it for a Garmin at Best Buy and I have had no problem since.
So, I guess that doesn't answer your question. The sales person at Best Buy in Fashion Valley, San Diego was very knowledgable. I was very pleased with his service, if that helps any.
