Can I add my own POI'S with this model null

Yes, using the Garmin BaseCamp program or the Garmin POI Loader, you can add custome POIs to the device.

The answer is not so simple. My computer has a big it department and they created their on maps and we have downloaded them into the device. To say an individual could depends on how tech savvy they are and their maps. Need to research the format for the maps and write the maps in that format and upload through the usb cable slot in back.
