Yes, it can be used to attach to a smooth surface like the front windshield.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It has a mounting system that mounts to the front window with a suction cup. From time to time it will need to be remounted. I just rub the suction cub with saliva, push into the place want the GPS and and activate the mounting lever. In some states mounting to the front window is illegal. I'm a real estate appraiser and three GPSs and 15 years later it has never been an issue. When I'm out of town, say staying at a motel, I pop the GPS out of the mount and keep in my room. It's really easy to do, and does not disturb the suction cup.
