I would actually say that it would depend more on your comfort level with the size. It is a significantly larger watch with the fenix 5 than the 5s especially on thickness. That said, it didn't take me too long to get used to it and it fits comfortably with the fenix 5.

I'm 5'5" and have skinny wrists so the 5 is a little bigger than I would normally prefer. But I ultimately chose it for the other options it had that the 5s didn't. If I'm spending this much in a watch then I might as well get as many options as I can without sacrificing too much wrist real estate.
