“Garmin Map Updates I have a Garmin Nuvi that has lifetime maps updates. I updated the maps and couldn't get any states out West to download. I called Garmin and they told me had to buy a card to download all state maps. Is that true? If so what's the advantage of buying a Garmin that says lifetime maps update when that actually isn't true if I can't download all lower 49 states?”

That is not true. I just downloaded & updated maps and voice options yesterday using my tablet via Garmin Express, no issues. The squirrel voice is hilarious sounds more like Alvin n the Chipmunks

As more detail and coverage is added with each mapping update, the file size of the mapping gets larger. The nüvi 57LM can accept up to a 32GB microSD card. ^DK
