A phone GPS app is great till you are out of cell range. I use both.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The phone navigation system works from tower to tower and can skip, thus you might miss an important turn. This has happened to me. While the Garmin works from maps that are already downloaded into your Garmin, thus you are less likely of missing that important turn. And warns you of changes, traffic alerts, etc.
