• I have a nuvi 40LM and the cable I bought from Best Buy fixed the problem I had with the old one. According to the Garmin website, the automobile power cable has the same part number for the nuvi 55LM. Garmin also offers a cable that runs off the USB connector if your car has one of those although I didn't see that one at my local Best Buy.
