I read that is missing an altimeter. My FitBit Versa 2 had one but nope, no "# of steps climbed" type of measurement on this. Still, I  like it.

The watch will use GPS for elevation for outdoor runs. It does not have a barometric altimeter. Please go to support.garmin.com where you'll find many helpful FAQ's and video's on the functions of the device.
