“Does the Vivosmart with heart rate monitoring require a seperate strap/band or do you still have just the Vivosmart tracker only”

• To use the Vivosmart as a heartrate monior you need the separate strap (they sell the Vivosmart with or without the strap -- and of course charge you a bit more for the one with the strap).

• Yes, it can pair with a ANT wireless protocol strap and report the information on the vivosmart. There is a pre-bundled package available that has a heart rate strap and the vivosmart.

• Its a separate Heart Rate Monitor. The Garmin. one is a chest strap.

• it requires a seperate chest strap or arm band. Any ANT+ heart rate monitor can be used. Chest straps are more accurate for exercise than any current wrist ones. If you're not interested in resting HR, this works great. There are also several styles of chest straps you can buy to suit your style and needs.
