I am a lap swimmer too and I have used it without any problems. I love it when I tells me to move when I take a small break in swimming or aquajogging.

The vívosmart can be worn in the water. It is not 100% waterproof, however it has a water resistance rating of 5 ATM, which means it can withstand pressures equivalent to a depth of 50 meters. Please keep in mind that while it can be worn in water, it is not designed to provide swimming data - only walking, running and cycling (with the use of speed and cadence sensors). -LB

Yes. This VivoSmart is very good in water. If I'm not mistaken, there may be a place in the app or on the Garmin PC dashboard to adjust for swim settings.

Yes the vivosmart is water resistant, you shouldn't have an issue with swimming, but watch how deep you swim..
