Yes, as an activity tracker it will always be measuring your steps, distance, floors climbed, active intensity, heart rate and calories burned which can be viewed at any time. You also have the option to record individual activities that can be synced separately for review later. -LB

When you open the app, it syncs automatically, but the info is available on the device even if you are not near the phone or the computer.

You can only see instantaneous heart rate, but if you synch it, you can see a graph for the whole day. There are strings of days that I go without synching. Totally doable.
