No, depending on what you want to see or view when cycling. The unit is gps enabled and will show where you went on your ride. I suggest purchasing the heart rate monitor to go along with it to get an accurate account of your activity and monitor your heart rate while riding. The watch records the activity while in progress then syncs with your phone when the activity is complete. You can then view various items such as pace, average HR, Max HR, calories burned, duration etc..

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Garmin vívoactive does not require a Garmin Bicycle computer in order to use the "Bike" function. Please use the Garmin FAQ link/URL below to view steps on how to activate the Bike feature on the device. {CW} • http://www8.garmin.com/manuals/webhelp/vivoactive/EN-US/GUID-6C4404BB-DF7A-4091-B78F-5C94916F0A4E.html

The Garmin fēnix 3 is a standalone unit with all the sensors you need to track an outdoor bike ride (i. e. speed, distance, elevation, even heart rate if you connect an ANT+ hear rate monitor). If you are talking about a stationary bike, then the only thing the Garmin fēnix 3 could do for you is track your hear rate, provided, again, that you have an ANT+ or Bluetooh hear rate monitor and strap attached to your chest. I am not sure if the Garmin fēnix 3 has any apps capable of connecting to a stationary bike to display whatever information the bike may be able to "share" on your wrist.
