The Garmin vívoactive Smartwatch counts your steps all the time, the app is used to view them on the watch.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It will automatically track your steps whether GPS is on or not.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The device automatically tracks steps. The GPS setting does not need to be on for this. If you have the GPS turned on and you use the Walk setting in the activity menu, it will chart exactly where you are walking, and you will be able to review this on a map in the Garmin app once the activity is completed and uploaded. The activity functions (walk, run, swim, cycle) are to be used to track workouts and so they will calculate specific data within those parameters. Have fun!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No need to select the Walking activity for steps to be recorded. It automatically tracks steps all day long, inside or outside.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. As long as Activity Tracking is enabled, it will continuously count steps. GPS does not have to be on. Devices with Activity Tracking have sensors that are designed to track repetitive walking motion as steps. Thank you. *CG
