“the opening in my cabinet is 10 3/16 tall ....The unit is 10 3/16high there is NO room top to bottom is this a bad situation ?”

Hello rick, Great question! We thank you for considering GE Appliances. You are greatly appreciated, and we'd be glad to help with this microwave oven. We first wanted to clarify that this is a countertop model, so we do not recommend placing it in a cabinet like a built-in model. The necessary clearance for this model is 3 inches on each side, 3 inches on the top, and 1 inch in the rear. We always suggest following the installation requirements because if they are modified any way other than what is stated, the product warranty is void. We hope this information is helpful.
