Greetings! We hope to provide a peaceful experience with all our products, there are some normal noises you can expect from your new microwave. There can be a dull thumping sound while cooking at power levels other than the high level. When using a power level other than HIGH or 10 the magnetron tube cycles on and off to obtain the lower power. This cycling of the magnetron tube causes this dull thumping, pulsating, or humming noise. There can be a humming noise when the microwave is not in operation. The transformer emits a slight humming sound that is usually not noticed. The transformer is used to power the clock. We hope this information helps, and we encourage you to reach out to us with additional questions. Best regards. -Kacie@GEA
