“I want to put this in a cabinet where my GE Spacemaker II used to sit. I have more vent clearance top and back than what the specs call for but instead of 3" on each side, I would only have 2 1/2 inches. Is that a deal breaker?”

Hi - Thank you for your interest in a new GE microwave. Our recommendation is to have 3" air clearance on each side and at the top and 1" air clearance in the rear. Using these specifications, the air conditioner has been tested and approved for reliability and safety. It's your decision as to how you ultimately install the unit. All our best! Vikki@GEA
