Hi Dabmaster, thank you for reaching out to us and for your patience. We truly appreciate you choosing a GE Appliances microwave for your home and are very sorry to hear of the recent issues you are having with electronic digital display. We can imagine that this would be a frustrating experience and apologize for the inconvenience this has caused for you. If the display is not lighting up, we would first recommend that you press the Pause/Off button to clear it in the case that a power failure may have occurred. If the oven will not come on, unplug your microwave and plug it back in and make sure that the plug is fully inserted into wall receptacle. If these suggestions do not resolve the issue, service may be needed to properly diagnose the unit. You can schedule an appointment with GE Factory Service by calling 1-800-432-2737 Monday – Friday: 7 a.m. – 10 p.m. ET, Saturday – Sunday: 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. ET, or schedule online at any time. We hope that this helps! -Eliza@GEA

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It sounds like the power is off. The clock should always be on, if not the run time for what you are cooking. Maybe you have a defective unit. The screen on mine never goes black, so long as it is plugged in.
