Hello, Thank you for reaching out to us at GE Appliances. We are happy to hear of your interest in this amazing microwave. This is a great question and we are happy to help. This microwave does have a popcorn feature that can be accessed by pressing the popcorn button on the control panel. For more information on how to use this feature view page 9 of the Use and Care Manual. All microwaves have a window in the door that has a mesh screen inside of it. This screen helps keep the microwaves inside the cavity, and is a necessary part of the microwave. You may find that the screen makes it difficult to see your food as it is cooking. Although it is difficult to see detail, the window should allow you to see if there are any problems while cooking, like arcing, burning, boilovers, etc. If you need to check on your food, opening the door will pause the microwave.
